Empower 1000 Girls with The Girls Like Me

Donation protected
Did you know that every year on 11th October, the #InternationalDayOfTheGirl, UNICEF launches an annual campaign with and for girls?

We decided join in on this amazing opportunity, starting our campaign to Encourage, Empower and Inspire (more vulnerable) teen girls, primarily in Luton and Bedfordshire, to develop their Confidence, Courage and ability to Celebrate themselves and others.

This is the heart of Jasmine Mbye; Director & Founder of The Like Me CIC, as she has experience knows be a girl struggling with herself and feeling unsafe and alone.  Each year at our conference we launch our annual campaign of girl empowerment. This year our conference takes place on Monday the 11th of October 2021. The theme is 'My Voice' in line with UNICEF.

It's crucial to us ensure we support the wellbeing of girls as they navigate through these especially mind boggling times.

Therefore, we have a range of events and activities that the funding from this campaign will support so our girls can be empowered and find and/or use their voice whilst enhancing their wellbeing.

Upcoming Events & Activities:
*August 2021 - The Girls Like Me Summer camp.
*October 2021 - The Girls Like Me L&B Conference.
*November 2021 - Empowering Me For Girls.
*January 2022 - Goal Forward With Affirmations.
*January 2022 - The Girls Like Me Monthly Meet-ups.
*February 2022 - Loving The Girl In The Mirror.

The first ever The Girls Like Me Luton Conference took place on the 11th October 2019. The theme was Anxious/ Stressed/ Depressed, No More! And we had inspiring speakers, engaging activities, developmental workshops and entertainment plus a fashion show! And, it was fantastic! All this to celebrate and show each girl that passions can be pursued and dreams achieved even when you face challenges like anxiety, stress and depression.

*The average rating from girls who attended was 9.6 out of 10.

Can you spare £5? Or perhaps a little more? Whatever generous donation you can provide will allow us to reach our goal of Empowering 1000 Girls with The Girls Like Me Project.

The International Day of the Girl is a day to make a difference, yet it's just the start of our campaign. A real difference will come from consistent work and with your kind gift of any amount we can do just that.
