Emmy's battle with CDH

Donation protected
"Hi! My name is Emersyn Rae Lucas, my family calls me Emmy! I had help writing this because I don't have a voice yet and am still developing in my mommy's belly. At my 20 week ultrasound, my family and I found out I have a condition called CDH. This means I have a hole in my diaphragm and some of my organs aren't where they are supposed to be. This may hurt my heart, and it will hurt my lungs. When I leave my mommy's belly I will have a hard time breathing, and before I even get to meet my mommy and daddy the doctors will have to take me away and fix me.  I want so much to live, to feel my mommy's breath as she kisses me and feel my daddy's strong hands as he holds me close to his heart. There is a purpose for everything, so I know I was created for a reason. My mommy and daddy love me so much and we just want to be a family. I hope to see you all soon, face to face.

Love,

Emmy Rae <3"

Hello everyone,  my name is Rose Boyd and I'm baby Emmy's Grandma. I wrote this with the support of all of Emmy's grandparents and on behalf of Emmy's parents, my daughter and son-in-law Shanna and Jeremie. There sometimes comes a point in our lives when we need to reach out for help, physically, emotionally and yes sometimes financially. On October 8th we found out that Emmy has a congenital diaphragmatic hernia, causing organs to go into her chest cavity and this forced her heart and lungs to be pushed to one side. This will make it hard for her lungs to develop and means surgery when she is born and an extended stay in the NICU.

Shanna and Jeremie will be going down to Cincinnati Children's Hospital  at the end of this month for testing and to meet with a team of doctors to come up with a game plan to save Emmy's life. Everything that comes with this will lay a large financial burden on Shanna and Jeremie. Medical bills, travel costs, reliable transportation and an extended stay in Cincinnati when Emmy is born, which could last for months. All of this will add up and money should be the least of their worries when trying to save their daughters life. So, for those reasons I am asking for help to assist them in their fight.  I made the goal $10,000 but only because I had to set one. Really anything will help, and if you are unable to give then we all would greatly appreciate if you could share this so that Emmy's story reaches as may people as possible. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
