Emmett’s First Birthday

BC Children's Hospital is the only hospital in the province devoted exclusively to the care of children. As one of the few pediatric medical centers in North America with a world-class acute care center, research institute, mental health facility and soon, rehabilitation center all on one campus, we provide expert care for the sickest and most seriously injured kids.

As few of you may know, we were transferred to BCCH after Emmett’s birth on February 3, 2021 where he was diagnosed with HIE. He underwent a specialized therapeutic treatment in hopes to minimize the effects of the birth trauma he endured. Without this specialized care and most amazing team of professionals, I truly don’t know where we would be today. The kindness and care they showed our family during the most difficult time in our lives was above and beyond any of our expectations.

As a way to honour Emmett’s first trip around the sun, we would love to be able to organize a donation for BC Children's Hospital so they can continue to do this incredibly important and heroic work.
