Emma's Medical Treatment Fundraiser

Donation protected
My name is Addie Ryan, and I am trying to raise funds for my sisters healthcare treatmeant. Emma is my 21 year old, younger, and only sister, and was diagnosed with thyroid adenoma 2 years ago.  In other words, she has an abnormal tumor on her thyroid gland. This may seem simple and common, but in her case it has been the complete opposite.

Here's her story:
Growing up she was sick often, but that seemed relatively normal. She battled weight issues, which also seemed common. In highschool, it  turned into hormonal and fertility issues,  which seemed strange, but the doctors assured us that there was nothing wrong. At the age of 17, she took her health into her own hands when she started researching, reading, and trying one thing after another. It wasn't until she became vegan that she noticed any difference. She started her plant based journey and seemed to be thriving. She continued to learn, help, and inspire others along the way. She went on to University to study nutriton along with becoming a raw food chef.

After learning a wealth of knowledge in the plant based world and teaching others, she was invited to an internship in Turkey to help even more people. She worked as a health coach and worked with people who struggled with various ailments and went on to do teach raw food workshops, cooking classes, and yoga in the Nethlerlands. Throughout this time she noticed that she was in fact struggling with her own health issues, but was so focused on the opportunities at hand that she ignored them and considered them to be a side-effect of traveling, or perhaps the stress of our parents getting a divorce and moving away.

Deep down she knew something was not right.  After all, she had gained about 50 pounds at this point, but it wasn't until she got hit by a car that she was forced to slow down. It was in the emergency room when they found her thyroid condition. After blood work, ultra sounds, and biopsies, they declared her to have a singluar thyroid nodule, which seemed simple. We thought, "Okay great, no cancer. So what's next? How do we get rid of it?" Well, not so fast. She had to return home to Oklahoma City due to the cost of medical testing and treatments while abroad.

She returned to OKC to continue her journey and to heal her body. She saw doctor after doctor and specialist after specialst. Each doctor put her on a different program and diet. None of which improved her condition.  Instead, she became insulin resitant (pre-diabetic), obtained digestive and colon issues, chronic inflammation, gained more weight, and continued to struggle with her thyroid.  They recently told her there was no medication or treatment left that would help, and that she would have to live with it. She then listened to her personal beliefs and went to multiple naturopath doctors. She thought for sure she would find the answers she had been waiting on, but again she was wrong.

Inspired by her personal beliefs in the power of plants, Joe Cross, and her current job as the cleanse specialsit for Organic Squeeze in OKC, She went through a 60 day vegetable juice fast, thinking that her body just needed a break. Of course she felt slightly better, but no drastic benefits came from it. You can only imagine how discouraged she felt at this point.

However, out of the blue, her job sent her to New York to spend a week with Joe Cross and his medical team at the Omega Institute. Here she was able to meet with the top health coaches of NY, the top doctors and surgeons of the Cleveland Clinic, and more.  After learning about a clinic in England that provides people just like her with a natural form of treatment, she was listening. After hours of reasearch, more lab testing, and a consultation with the head doctor of the clinic, we knew this was the answer. She had her final consultation last week and was accepted into the clinic this morning. We are thrilled with joy at the opportunity to bring back her health, but we are asking for your help. The treatment will take 3 weeks, and the total cost, including flights and stay,  is $22,000.00. We hope to raise these funds for her by the end of September so she can begin treatment in October.

I can assure you that Emma will pay it forward. She lives to help other people who are struggling with their health and strives to make a difference, but she can't make a difference if she isn't healthy enough to take care of herself.

For those of you who are interetsed in the details of the treatment she hopes to receieve:
The easiest way to explain it is that over the course of her life, she has killed off all neccesary bacteria and enzymes necessary for the human body to thrive. This treatment takes the enzymes and bacteria from a matching donor and implants them into her intestines.  Once her body recieves the necessary enzymes over the course of the treatments, it will begin to reproduce them naturally and her body will be able to fall back into balance and heal. This treatment has been tested and proven to work all over the world, but the United States only permits it in life or death situations. Please help us bring Emma back her health so she can continue her journey of inspiring and educating others in the field of wellbeing and good nutiriton!
