Franklin and Crick

I am a sophomore at UIUC, I am not a very socially adept person and so when it came to trying to find something to occupy my time it was quite stressful until luckily I found The Wildlife Society student chapter. They were a very welcoming and quirky bunch and I felt at home right away, it was such a relief. Flash forward to this past summer, a friend of mine Emmarie rescued some rats, she was told they were as healthy as could be, she got them plenty of amenities to enrich their lives and quickly became attached. Unfortunately, when one passed away and she took them to the Vet she discovered they had parasites and infections running rampant throughout their bodies. Being a college student herself she needs to financially support herself and is finding a hard time paying for recurring vet bills for the remaining rats, Franklin and Crick. She will have to relinquish them soon to someone who can hopefully financially support them but she is very attached and is having a hard time saying goodbye. A friend in need is a friend indeed and since she was one of the people who made me feel comfortable my freshmen year in a time of uncertainty and chaos I would like to attempt to pay back that kindness through this GoFundMe so that she doesn't have to part ways with her pets.
