Emmaly's Trip Fund to Bajed Kandala

Hello Friends and Family!
As some of you may know already I am volunteering at a Kurdish IDP (Internally Displaced Persons, aka Refugee) camp from August to December of this year. This is a wonderful opportunity for my career as well as to expand my horizons of the development field while also helping others who are in desperate need. This trip is mostly funded by Joint Help For Kurdistan but I still have to buy my plane ticket, some food and any other materials to bring (travel backpack, first aid kit, appropriate attire, internet HotSpot, etc.).
Please help fund me to teach English and coach dance and soccer in Bajed Kandala. Any little bit helps!
Below is a break down of what I am estimated to buy. I have also provided a brief history of the Yazidi Kurds who I am going to help. (Also, I have provided information about me so that GoFundMe will approve this fundraising.)

Yazidi Kurds:
In 2014 the Yazidi Kurds were attacked by ISIS in Sinjar, Iraq. An estimated 6,000 to 9,000 people were killed or kidnapped in a span of two days. The remaining 12,000 or so Yazidi’s that escaped fled to a remote area north of Mosul where they set up Bajed Kandala camp 1 and 2 with the help of the United Nations. In November 2015 Bajed Kandala, being a relatively small camp void of internal strife, fell through the cracks at the UN and was left to fend for themselves. Dr. Nemam, who is the President of Joint Help For Kurdistan, was involved in the camp as a medic but saw the need to expand her organizations mission statement and has become the de facto leader of the camp. Currently thousands of Yazidi Kurds are still held captive by ISIS in Raqa, Syria as sex slaves, however as the US and the international community further liberate Raqa from ISIS, many Yazidis will have the opportunity to return to their families in Bajed Kandala to await their return back to Sinjar, Iraq, their home.
My name is Emmaly Read and I am a recent graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. I have relocated to Washington, DC to start my career in foreign service and now have the opportunity to give back at the same time! As mentioned above, my plans are to go to Kurdistan, Iraq for four months and return to DC in January. THank you for all the love and support every one has shown me so far!
