Send a Transplant Warrior to Walt Disney World!

As many of you know, our 3 yr old daughter received a heart transplant last year. We spent a year inpatient away from family due to covid causing visitor restrictions. Once Emmalyn was discharged home, our life didn't slow down. She required oxygen, 2x weekly dialysis which was done in Ann Arbor, plus multiple therapies and other appointments to make sure everything was going well. We began to slowly wean her oxygen and she was able to come off of dialysis and have her line removed in December. With everything going on, I have had to stay home and be Emmalyn's caregiver. We have wanted so badly to get away and take a trip somewhere but with covid and everything Em has had going on, it hasnt been possible. We were recently given an opportunity to join one of Emmalyn's nurse friends and her family on a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida this fall. We've been trying to figure out a way to do this as money is tight because of everything. We have had some of her followers ask how things are going and if we needed help with anything, so we thought why not put this out there then. I understand people may judge or feel this isnt what we should be asking for. We are doing all we can to save and find a way to go. Emmalyn has been asking and wants to go so badly and I feel she deserves it. We have looked into Make a Wish and other wish agencies but MaW requires all members of the family to be vaccinated and Em is still too young for it, plus they are all backlogged about 1 or 2 years due to the pandemic. This trip is only going to be a short one. I know it looks like weve raised a lot of money recently but these funds were raised while we were inpatient and still waiting for Emmalyn's heart early last year. We just eanted to keep using the same gofundme so everyone can look back and see all she has been through. The truth is that the difficulties of her inpatient stay and surgeries plus complications didnt end once she was discharged. Some may say this is more of a want than a need but I beg to differ. Our family went through hell and back over the last year. There was a real fear and honest conversations about the possibility if Emmalyn not surviving. Yet here she is. She fought with everything she had. Through severe complications, multiple infections, kidney disease, and so many other things, yet she is still standing and finally starting to thrive. We know we need a little bit of help to make this come true for her. Some people have mentioned they prefer to give via venmo or paypal, so if that is what you would like, feel free to send me a message and i can include them. We are also talking about doing a new shirt fundraiser for her as well. We thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts. Please check out Emmalyn's Facebook page at the link below.
