HELP ME GET TO ST.GEORGES LYME AND CANCER CLINIC.
Hello, My name is Emma Cleary and i'm a 17 year old girl from Mullingar, Co.Westmeath.
Those of you close to me will know that ive battled with illness since i was 12 years old. After being undiagnosed for 4 years, having over 20+ admissions to hospital and 2 surgeries, with no explanation to why i went from being normal and healthy to chronically ill. After meeting with Dr.L in the Maher and sending bloods to Germany, I eventually got diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease in Feb 2017. This was a great relief as for the 4 years prior there was no explanation to why i was feeling so unwell everyday. Lyme Disease effects every part of your body, from recurring throat infections, to ovarian cysts. Before i had Lyme Disease i was a perfectly normal girl who loved sports, and almost over night that all changed for me. I was left bed bound for long periods, unable to even attend school due to the number of symptoms i was experiencing. I try to stay positive through everything but it has been very tough. I have a never-ending list of symptoms, with chronic fatigue, stomach and bowel problems, migraine, muscle weakness, diziness and chronic pain of joints and muscles effecting me the worst. I am still unsure how i got Lyme Disease, having no memory of contracting a tick bite, but this is quite common. I received 10 months of intense antibiotics and other treatments here, but unfortantely as my Lyme is late stage the treatment here did not result in the outcome i was hoping for. I have now made plans to attend a 2 week stay in St. Georges Lyme and Cancer clinic in Germany where i will receive the treatment nescessary for me to get my life back. Unfortunately, the fee for this treatment is €20,000, meaning i do have to fundraise for this money.
