Emma's Life Saving Surgery

To those who know me, know that I love my animals as if they were my own children. Unfortunately this morning, Emma had to be rushed to the emergency vet due to a condition called Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (GDV). It's where the stomach becomes full of gas and then actually flipps upside down. Once the stomach is flipped, the values become twisted and the gas has no way of escaping. The stomach becomes extremely bloated and can cause blood from being able to make it to the heart. I had to make one of the toughest decisions of my life this morning. Either put my dog down or pay for an extremely costly surgery.  I opted for the surgery.  Like I said, my animals are my family and if there was a chance to save her life, I had to try. The surgery cost $4500 and maybe more depending on post-op requirements.  

I am not one to ask for handouts. I am usually more of the giving type, but being this close to Christmas and both my girls just had birthdays, I am asking. Every little bit will help. I thank you all in advance and I wish everyone a happy safe holiday season.
