Emma's Treatment Fund

Those who know Emma Morrissey and her family, know that they are absolute saints and adored by all. They will also know that despite this, they have been faced with an unconscionable amount of hardship over the last 11 years.
Both Emma’s father and brother were diagnosed with cancer in close succession in 2007/08, this has meant that cancer has always been in forefront of Emma’s mind.
Her Father Rod passed away from kidney cancer in 2011 and her 27-year-old brother Nathan continues to live with rare, slow growing brain tumours.
This is why, as a life-long friend, I was absolutely devastated to find out that Emma herself (at 29) had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Emma is at the start of her treatment journey and will be having a lumpectomy on the 25th of September. This will require at least two weeks off work, and from there her oncologist will determine the remainder of her treatment plan.
Her treatment will include a combination of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone treatments and the precautionary exercise of freezing her eggs. It is unlikely that Emma will return to work at full capacity for up to 8-12 months.
As you can imagine, this will take its toll on Emma not only physically and emotionally, but also financially. I am hoping together we can alleviate some of the financial burden she will face.
She is such a strong and independent woman (whom very seldom asks for help) and even through her own hardship, is thinking of others. She has expressed that any additional funds raised (beyond the amount she requires) will be donated to Cancer Research & Awareness.
