Update: I am finally walking and about to go back to work next week but I don't know when my paycheck will hit and our mortgage went up while we are unable to be there. We are almost in the process of rebuilding and had to use what little we had to make sure we had our 1000 deductible. If anyone is willing we greatly appreciate it.
Hi, my name is Emily Kinkead, and I’m reaching out for help during an incredibly difficult time.
While celebrating my 11-year-old bonus daughter, I had a rollerblading accident that resulted in a subtle oblique nondisplaced fracture of the distal fibula and a ligament tear. I underwent surgery on January 21st and am currently unable to work as a bus driver for Alma while I recover.
As if that weren’t enough, on January 23rd, our home flooded. We’re in the process of working with insurance, but we have no idea how long the restoration will take. To make matters worse, our fridge was unplugged during the cleanup, causing all our food to spoil.
Between medical bills, household expenses, insurance premiums, and the unexpected costs of the flood, we’re struggling to stay afloat. As much as I hate to ask, we truly need support to get through this.
Any contribution, big or small, would mean the world to me and my family. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story would also be an incredible help. And if you pray, we would deeply appreciate prayers for healing, solutions, and just some good luck.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
Thank you to everyone that has helped us so far!
