Emily's Medical and Cancer Expenses

At the beginning of October my mom, Emily, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. This came as a shock to our family and friends when we first heard the news. Everyone from our family, our friends, our neighborhood, to my mom's school, and all the places in between have always seen my mom as a kind and strong willed woman with that positive "go get 'em" attitude. So far she has continued to be strong, having a minor surgery leading up to her starting chemotherapy this past week. She is still trying to remain as upbeat as possible. With numerous ultrasounds, MRI's, and scans to make sure the doctors are doing all they can to find and stop the cancer as quick as possible, the outpatient costs are starting to add up. She has 6 months of chemo treatments ahead of her as well as a major surgery in the spring. She is doing well in her fight but we are wanting to make sure that she is being watched closely and getting all the treatment and medication she needs. My mom is strong and optimistic that we are going to be able to get through this bump in the road.
