Discovering Amazon's Megabugs

Hola queridos amigos y familia! My name is Emily Middendorf and, for those of you who don’t already know, I am currently at the Los Amigos Research Station in the Peruvian Amazon. Being here, conducting field research and learning about conservation in a biological hotspot such as this one, is an opportunity of a lifetime that I am already forever grateful for.

Of course, in order to make sure that I am able to enjoy all of my six months here, I need funds to stay at the station. I am seeking your help in fulfilling my goal of raising $4000 which will cover all of the costs for staying until December.  

I have been here for over two weeks and am already in love with my work (see above photo of me looking dotingly at my new friend Mr. Coprophanaeus lancifer).

Any amount of money that you donate will make the world of a difference to me! In addition, up to $1000 that I raise in donations from lovely people like yourself will be matched at the end of my fundraising campaign!

Internet isn’t always the best in terms of connection (makes sense when you’re in a remote area in the Amazon) but I WILL be posting photos with updates on my time here so that everyone can be as excited as am I to work with dung beetles (they’re the shit! I swear!).
