Emily's Back Surgery Fund!
My Precious 14 year old was diagnosed in June 2013 with a congenital defect in her back called grade 5 Spondylolisthesis or Spondyloptosis. This spinal condition has caused the vertebra of her lumbar spine to slip completely off the one below it. MRI Pic Below. Hers is the highest grade. I found out only 5% of the population have this condition. (I always knew she was special!) She is going to many doctors and specialists to prepare for the surgery. Fortunately we have insurance for her, but it has a high deducible and will only cover 80% after the deductible is met. Already the bills are mounting! She really needs this surgery as the pain is getting worse for her as well as the deformity which is occurring is getting more noticeable, and worst of all she may lose bowel, bladder and sexual function as a result. She wishes to return to a full life of volleyball, school dances, and other activities pain free! Thanks in advance for your monetary help or prayers, or both! Any little bit helps!!
