Hey friends! As many of you know, Emily was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2017. She underwent a double mastectomy surgery in September 2017, and followed up with a rigorous 4-month chemotherapy treatment. As of February 2018 she has been in remission!
The next step in her journey and getting back to normal will be her reconstruction surgery! Per her surgeon's recommendation, she will undergo a latissimus dorsi reconstruction surgery on November 15th. This is a two-part surgery,the first will require 4 nights in the hospital and 4 weeks of recovery. The second surgery will occur in January 2019. Emily's insurance will cover the first surgery as she has met her deductible, but her insurance resets next year, and this is where we could really use your help! The estimate of the second surgery will cost approximately $4000 excluding her post-surgery medication.
We'll be trying to raise enough to pay for this second surgery, as well as, enough for me (Caleb) to take off work and take care of our sweet Emily and help pay for her medications. Literally any donation would mean the absolute world to us! Everyone's support over the past year has been genuinely heartwarming, and we couldn't ask for better friends and family <3 Our good friend, Katy Antonyuk, is helping us set up this campaign and will be helping Emily out after surgery as well!
