Emilie's funeral expense

Donation protected

Tell Emilie's story, thats easy. Emilie was the kindest, warm hearted, hard working person I have ever known. From a young age she learned that hard work was important and family was everything.

Emilie came to the United States in 1958 to make a better life for herself. She was followed by her sister shortly after and soon the small family was united. The two sisters and their mother made a life for themselves here in Chicago.

Emilie was a single mother, never asking for assistance from any one and never accepted hand outs. She was a pround hard working German American, asking for help was out of the question. She worked 18 hour days as a waitress at the Martinique and hard work payed off. She retired from there in 2003 as Manager of the waitstaff.

Emilie's rough childhood taught her empathy. She often recognized those who were in need. She found them work, gave them food and even literally the clothes off her back. Emilie's home was your home if ever in need. She did every thing for everyone.  With that being said, she never was able to save any money. There was no retirement to look forward too and no life insurance to help the family during this tragic event.

Emilie is survived by her two children, Mike and Susan. and their families.  Her sister Klothilde (Tilla) and her family. Emilie spent every minute of her days giving her all to her family and friends and did not mind that she had nothing for herself. Emilie's legacy will be that. She has taught all of us that things are just things and family and friends are what matters.

Please help our family in our time of need. We are trying to give this selfless, beautiful woman the send off she deserves. Any amount is appreciated from all of us.
