Kitten Winter's Pelvic Surgery

Donation protected
My name is Brooke, and my passion in life is helping animals in need. During the past year alone I have done more than I ever thought I was cable of doing, and through all of the heartache and tears, I will keep doing my best to help the animals I love so dearly. I don't want to "list" the things I have done, or how much money I have given, but with both, it has been a lot, and now in turn, I am the one who is in dire need of help. A foster I have had for over a year was finally able to go home, and around that time, a kitten came into my life. I was just getting ready to adopt 2 of my older fosters, but since I also had room for the kitten, Winter, I decided to keep her. I fell in love with her docile demeanor, and soulful eyes. Everytime she would look up at my I felt as though she needed to tell me something. And obviously,  she did.  She was hurt, and badly. Long story short, I believe the person I recieved little Winter from knew she had been hit by a car. after a few days,I knew something was horribly wrong, and took her to the vet. Never did I expect to hear, "There is a shot surgery can help her, otherwise she needs to be euthanized". I could not wrap my brain around putting this sweet llittle kitten to sleep because some horrible person hit her with their car and left her to die or worse. She is only 4 months old, and I can't imagine much of it has been good. She is a stray, and had she not come into my care she would have remained outside to die not only a feezing cold Wisconsin winter death, but also of extreme constipation/sepsis. It breaks my heart to think about. I decided to take her to our tremendous surgical center for an orthopedic consult. The surgeon feels that Winter can recover and have a very normal, happy life. Her pelvis is broken in 3 places, and there is bone narrowing her colon so she psychically cannot go to the bathroom. The surgeon wil re-break her pelvis and be able to widen her opening so she can pass her stool on her own. This is Winter's only option, or she will die or have to be euthanized. She is only 4 months old, and deserves to live. I know this is a long shot, but I am hoping to raise a good majourity of her expenses. I will do my best to prove the authenticity of Winter's injuries by first providing her x-rays. She is being treated at the Fox Valley Animal Referral Center, and is currently doing quite well. I have full confidence in the staff there. I pray that karma will come full circle and now that it is my turn for help, I am not forgotten about. I love this little girl, and cannot imagine her dying. Please, if you can help at all, I would be forever grateful, as would Winter.
She wants to live, and she has a whole cat family waiting for her to come home as well. We love Winter.
Please help us. Thank you so much.
Love,
Brooke, Winter, and family-meow
