Who are we?

Emerson College Quidditch (ECQ) was founded in 2008 by 14 freshman who thought it would be fun to try for a day. After a successful afternoon it grew into the ECQ we know and love today. We went on to finish in 2nd place at World Cup III in 2009, the following year, and have maintained a reputation as a strong team, not that long ago finishing in the final four at World Cup VII in 2014. Since our foundation, we've been a hard fighting team competiting against other Boston teams in the Massachusetts Quidditch Conference, the greater Northeast region, and the entire US.

What did we accomplish this year?

This season ECQ went 6-12 with a team composed primarily of first year players. Each game ECQ played, while not always resulting in a victory, was well fought with lots of heart against tough teams such as Harvard, Tufts, BU, RPI, NYU and RIT. The skilled teams ECQ proved successful against include Brandeis, Middlebury, UMass Lowell, Stony Brook and Macaulay Honors College. At the Northeast Regionals in the fall ECQ went 3-3. Placed into one of the toughest pools day one ECQ fought hard with a loss against NYU, an intense hour long game against Tufts coming back from a 100 point deficit to lose by 10 points and ending on a positive note with a win against Macaulay. Day two ECQ was put on a difficult road to recieving a bid having to win 4 games in a row, making it half way with wins against Stony Brook and Brandeis, until reaching a devastating loss against RIT. However, that wasn't the end for ECQ. Our continued effort in the spring led us to be ranked high enough to recieve an at-large bid and qualify for US Quidditch Cup 11!

Why do we need your help?

Emerson College Quidditch's performance this season in the Massachusetts Quidditch Conference and at Northeast Regionals have earned us the invitation to travel to Round Rock, Texas to attend US Quidditch Cup 11. This is an amazing opportunity for our team, but traveling really puts a hole in your wallet and ECQ does not receive any funding from Emerson College. So our goal for this campaign is to try to reduce the financial burden as much as possible for each of our talented attending players. The funds we raise will go towards the cost of flying to and from Texas, as well as hotel rooms and rental cars for the duration of the weekend we stay. Any donation amount is a helpful and valuable step towards our goal. Thank you so much for your support!
