<div>I’m writing today with news I truly never expected to have to share. Just days ago, I learned that Emerging Artists Theatre Company’s funding from New York City was cut by $20,000 for the upcoming season. A core piece of our public funding has now disappeared — and it has left a real and immediate gap.
</div>

<div>For over 33 years, Emerging Artists has been a safe, supportive home for diverse theatre-makers — a place where artists can take risks, tell bold stories, and grow. We charge no submission or participation fees, and artists receive 50% of the box office, because we believe deeply that artists’ work has value and deserves to be paid.

<div>Each year, we support more than 120 artists across dance, musicals, plays, and solo work. We survived the pandemic. We stayed committed to our mission. 
</div>

</div>
<div>The $20,000 that was cut was meant to cover theatre rental and technical staff — the very basics that allow artists’ work to be seen. Losing it now was a devastating surprise.
</div>

<div>So, in this rare and unforeseen moment, I’m asking:
