 I’m reaching out for help with an unexpected medical emergency for my budgie.

 On Sunday, 30th August 2026, my budgie suddenly began vomiting and this worsened within few hours. She was also making loud squeaking and clicking sounds every time she breathed. Because it was late and my usual exotic vets were closed, I had to rush her to a 24/7 emergency cat and dog clinic.

 To keep her stable, she had to be hospitalized overnight and recieving oxygen and some medication. That initial emergency visit and overnight oxygen care cost £800, which I’ve had to set up a 3-month payment plan to manage. This cost included the initial emergency visit, medications, oxygen for hospitalisation and the stay at the hospital.

 Because today (Monday, 31st August) is a Bank Holiday, exotics vets are closed—and since no established exotics/avian specialist are available today she may need to stay hospitalized at the emergency clinic until Tuesday so they can get in touch with an exotics specialist for advice on what to do next.

 Right now, she is receiving anti-vomiting medication and an antibiotic at the clinic so her stomach calms down, helping her to eat and recover.

 I have set this target because the emergency hospitalization fees and upcoming specialist consultation costs are accumulating very quickly. She means so much to me and feels so safe around me, but I had no choice due to the loud breathing sounds she's making and had to leave her for treatment
