My name is Taylor, and I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult moments of my life. A little over a week ago, I was in a serious car accident. I was driving straight through an intersection when another car turned left into me. My airbags deployed, my windows shattered, and I was rushed to the hospital with multiple injuries—three wrist fractures, a dislocated elbow, and severe bruising.

The worst part? I need emergency surgery to repair the damage to my arm and wrist, or I risk losing full mobility and long-term function. My hand may never fully recover if this isn’t done in time. The plastic surgeon gave me a tight two-week window to schedule the procedure for the best outcome—and I’m already halfway through that time.

Here’s where I need help:

Because of timing with moving and a new job, I don’t have active health insurance right now. I won’t be covered for another month. That means I have to pay for the full cost of surgery upfront, out of pocket—and I simply can’t afford it.

On top of that, my car was likely totaled in the accident, I’m currently out of work while I recover, and I’ve already started getting hit with medical bills I can’t keep up with.

I’m terrified of what will happen if I miss this surgery deadline. I’ve worked hard to be independent and strong, but this has knocked me flat. I’ve never felt this overwhelmed before.
