Emergency Surgery for Allie Cat

The Animal Refuge Center knows this kitty very well, and we want to help her any way we can. Some of you who go to the Fort Knox Veterinary Facility might recognize this beautiful girl. Allie has been the Clinic Kitty for the last 11 years there serving as an emotional therapy cat to those in need. Well, now Allie is in need of help herself.

She has a complete blockage of the ureter (the duct or tube through which urine passes from the kidney to the bladder). This will prove fatal for Allie unless she has emergency surgery within the next couple of days.
This morning she was rushed to Veterinary Specialists in Louisville where they recommended a ureter bypass surgery. They feel that after this procedure, Allie has a pretty good prognosis.

Unfortunately, this surgery isn't cheap. $3,000 was the quote, and we know that is a lot of money, but Allie is so worth it. We're sure many of you are wondering why a clinic kitty needs the help of a local animal shelter. It gets a little technical here. Allie belongs to a veterinary clinic that is owned and operated by the Government. The funds for this surgery will never be allocated by the Government, nor can the Government accept any funds for this cat. Therein lies the dilemma.

Allie has been at this clinic for 11 years, and it's the only home she has ever known. The staff at the clinic love and care for her like she is one of their own. They are the only family Allie has ever known, and they want to be able to help her.

The Government can't accept money on Allie's behalf, but WE can forward any funds we raise to Veterinary Specialists to save the life of this sweet girl.

Allie has emotionally supported so many furry patients that needed it over the years. She has been their little feline Florence Nightingale and now she needs our support. Please give so she can live. Even a small donation will make a difference...in her life and so many others.
