Emergency Surgery For Akina

Late last night as we were winding down to sleep I was jolted awake by my dog Akina. She was crying and trying to throw up with no success and slobbering excessively. In between she was just standing there staring at me like something was terribly wrong. We had to hop into the car immediately to drive to our local 24 hr emergency vet. They told us after a few x-rays that her stomach had flipped and that this was now an emergency situation they gave us 2 options, pay for surgery or euthanize her immediately.
Akina is a 5 year old otherwise healthy little girl who absolutely is a ray on sunshine during all these terrible times lately. She is one of the only things that makes sure that I am functioning during my very bad depressive states, she keeps me grounded and is always there to offer licks and cute behaviour to cheer anyone up. Last night she was listless, barely walking at a crawling pace. This was so different than her usual bouncy bubbly nature that it really sunk in.
We had to rush her from our towns emergency vet to an emergency vet an hour away to perform the emergency surgery and try to save her life. She is now out and being monitored and kept on fluids. We're back to the original problem of how in the world we are going to be able to afford the price of the surgery. They would need the money within a few days when we go to pick her up. I would be ever grateful for anyone who was able to donate anything at all. She is my world and I have no idea what I would do without her here.
