Emergency Support For The Mozingo Family

Donation protected
Friends, family, community— we need your help.

In July of this year, Jason Mozingo was a seemingly healthy 43 year old man. The loving husband to Parker and father to 11 month old Foster and 22 month old Nolan. Jason is also the stepfather to two other children. Bennett, 14 who has Down syndrome and Alaina a 17 year old High school senior.

In mid August of this year, Jason began having stomach issues and was soon after diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.

In a matter of just a few weeks, Jason had lost over 43lbs, had been hospitalized multiple times and had been rendered unable to work leaving him in a struggle to support his family. Jason’s health continued to deteriorate to the point that he could no longer perform basic daily functions such as brushing his teeth without assistance.

To make matters worse, during one of Jason’s hospitalizations, he developed COVID which quickly spread through their home.

Although Parker was dealing with her own health issues of COVID and pneumonia, her primary focus remained on the health and well being of her husband.

After overcoming their individual battles with COVID, and mapping out a care plan for Jason’s newly diagnosed ulcerative colitis, Jason and Parker had hoped the worst was behind them.

Sadly, on Thursday September 23rd, Jason’s health took yet another unexpected turn.

An ambulance was called and Jason was transported to Forsyth Medical Center. After a CT scan revealed possible ruptures, Jason was taken into emergency surgery where his colon was discovered to be beyond repair and was therefor removed.

After multiple post surgical complications, Jason lost the battle and passed away. Leaving his young family with no source of income.

Although Parker’s faith is strong and she herself would never ask, we are asking for your support on her behalf. Jason was the sole provider for their family.

As you can imagine, Jason’s wife and children will have many needs as they walk this new journey in life without him.

While we are not certain of all of Parker’s financial needs as of yet, we do know that she will need funds for not only everyday household expenses (electricity, water, home and auto insurance, groceries, cell phones..) but funds for both past due and future mortgage payments, car loan payments, outstanding medical expenses and future childcare.

This account is not only intended to help Parker financially but is also a tangible way for her to see the love and support of friends and community during a time when it would be easy to feel overwhelmed, lost and afraid.

Any amount would be greatly appreciated. If you cannot give monetarily, please share with your friends and most importantly keep Parker and Jason’s entire family in your prayers.

All of the proceeds from this account will go directly to Jason’s wife, Parker and their children.
