<div>We are creating this GoFundMe for our parents, Jeanette and Carlos Ellison, who lost their home and most of their pets in a major house fire around 2am on Sunday July 13 on Vashon Island. Thankfully Jeanette and Carlos are physically unharmed and alive. Though their house is completely destroyed, the most heart-breaking part is the loss of their dogs - five amazing puppies confirmed dead, and two beloved adult dogs who could've made it out but likely perished as well. Nothing can replace them, and they are deeply missed. As they wait for the insurance process to begin, this money would go toward immediate expenses and emergency support as they start to deal with the losses of this fire. They are currently staying with family in a spare room, but we hope to find them their own space as they figure out the next steps toward rebuilding. The community has been incredibly helpful and supportive in donating clothing, however we have expenses that need addressing.

<div>My mother has worked as a psych nurse at the VA for the duration of my life. For as long as I can remember she has worked the nightshift taking care of our veterans. My father is a veteran of the navy. After his retirement he worked for the VA helping homeless veterans find housing and accessing their benefits. They are two of the strongest, most supportive and caring parents and grandparents we could ever ask for. This is our time to give back a fraction of the support they have given us.

<div>This was our family home, the home I was raised in. I never conceptualized what it would be to lose everything, until I sat in the yard and watched the flames claim everything my parents had worked so hard for. I have never felt as vulnerable and uncertain in my life, as I know my parents are feeling as well, but we will push forward together. I have seen the strength and support this community has to offer many times before. I am asking for as little or as much as you are willing to donate to help support my family, as we start the process to raise our home from the ashes and reclaim the property that we love.
