Hi everyone, my name is Walida. I’m a single mom doing my best to keep a stable and loving home for my teenage daughter. Over these past few months, life has hit us in ways I didn’t expect, and I’m now reaching out for help to prevent us from losing our home.

Earlier this year, I lost my job and, as a result, experienced a complete loss of income while managing ongoing health challenges. I immediately applied for disability and have been actively job searching while waiting for a decision, but the process has been long, slow, and emotionally draining.

I’ve contacted every local resource I can find — churches, nonprofits, rental assistance programs, and state agencies. While some have been kind enough to review my situation, nothing has come through yet. Meanwhile, rent and late fees continue to grow.

As of the end of November, I am over three months behind, with a balance close to $8,000 now (minus the recent donations). My leasing office has been incredibly patient, but I know that grace can only stretch so far.

This GoFundMe is truly a last resort. I’ve never been comfortable asking for help like this, especially publicly — but I’m doing what I must to keep a roof over our heads while I await income or approvals to come through.
