Emergency Relief for Gidan Woreda

From July 7 until November 9, 2020, Gidan Woreda, located in the Northern Wello Zone of Ethiopia, faced heavy rainfalls, flooding, severe landslides and other related disasters destroying most of the farms of the region. As a result, farmers have had a poor harvest season, having lost a significant part of their labour to these natural catastrophes. From the crops farmed in Gidan, 294.75 hectares of wheat, 161.5 hectares of barley, 98.5 hectares of beans, 81 hectares of peas and 86.25 hectares of lentils as well as sorghum, garlic, teff and abesh have been ruined.

Close to 2000 families and households are in immediate need of support as they are now prone to drought and related risks. Considering this bleak reality, I am raising funds with a sum target of 10,000 GBP.
