Urgent Aid to 24,000 war-displaced Artsakh kids

Tax deductible
“My childhood was during a war. My child is eight but has already witnessed two wars. Now my baby has been born during a war – so what is a happy childhood?” - Save the Children quotes  a mother’s word who gave birth two days after fleeing Artsakh Republic to Armenia.

24000 children are currently displaced as a result of the full-blown war in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh Republic) since 27th September 2020. These children now live away from their homes, often separated from their parents, under threat of live fire and the COVID-19 pandemic. They are being denied basic human rights including that of education.

Every war is a humanitarian crisis that takes a toll on children. It robs them of their rights to life, protection from violence and access to education. Due to indiscriminate shelling of towns and civilian infrastructure away from the front line, many schools and kindergartens, as well as homes and buildings have been destroyed. Despite these difficulties, these children are adamant on continuing their education. Many  now live in shelters with at best one or two books allowing them to take their minds off their immediate situation. This means that in order to overcome this crisis, not only should immediate help be provided, but also long-term support to help children resume their lives and their education.

We have organized this fundraising as we know what the war is and what humanitarian relief can provide from our own childhood experience. We have ourselves established various initiatives to provide quality education to kids (e.g.  Paradigma Educational Foundation , a charity supporting quality education in Armenia, with a broad range of international and local partners).

We also call on educators to sign this statement  to encourage others to donate and stop the humanitarian crisis.

Your donation will provide emergency humanitarian relief and access to basic educational services to these children and their families. All funds will be directly channeled to Armenia Fund Inc, a registered and internationally trusted charity for humanitarian relief. Every kid deserves peace and education!
