We are absolutely heartbroken to watch the devastation our country is living through right now. We have been personally touched, as have many thousands of Australians by these fires and the highest impact fire close to home is the fire burning on Kangaroo Island where the community have faced terrifying situations over the past few days.
We have been extremely busy flying our absolutely amazing and selfless CFS volunteers, MFS and DEW staff over the past few weeks to fires on the island and we are proud to have been able to play a small part in the logistics required to keep battling the fires. However, we want to do more!
We are a small group of family owned businesses Platinum Aircraft Charter Airtours & Adelaide Biplanes and we would love to help in a meaningful way to be able to quickly transport supplies of high immediate value to the Kangaroo Island community for both people and wildlife.
Throughout the many years of our operation, we have been heavily involved in Kangaroo Island flying many international and Australian guests, helping locals, fire spotting, fishing, personal holidays, various different charter flights, quick trips with friends and have carted many thousands of newspapers in the very small hours of the morning! It is a place close to our heart and we know they will fight through this nightmare to come back stronger than ever.
We are proposing to facilitate at least 1 aircraft trip to and from Kangaroo Island from Adelaide with up to 1,200kg freight to provide emergency relief to those suffering from the effects of the fires.
Our team are absolutely amazing - they have been flying like crazy to help, each and every one of them saying yes to every single request that has come through to help the CFS over the Christmas and New Year season. Every single member of our team has pledged to donate their time and skills to make these flight/s happen.
Should we have any money left after donations have been used to facilitate these flights (which will be at cost only), it will be shared as we see fit to create the most benefit with helping those that need the funds the most.
