Emergency Motel Homeless
Donation protected
Hi guys ~ well …. Here we are …. Day 6 in a Motel. 10 of us ; including 5 small children ages 9, 6, 6, 5, and 4. We tried to be proactive for 6 months prior to this regarding this situation; so that we would not end up in this position. This state has a severe housing crisis right now ; and the system is completely broken. When you go to CTI for help and they tell you to make sure that you “get a big enough tent” and that all of their hotels are being used for “immigration purposes only” - you know there is a severe problem. My husband and I just recently acquired legal guardianship of our two small grandchildren as well. Our apartment is still not ready yet; and we have all the money for an apartment set aside ; definitely CANNOT dip into those funds for a hotel … because then we will really be in trouble. I do not like to ask people for anything , as I am very independent … but at this point - I have no choice. Our hotel room cost anywhere from $800 - $900 for a week , also food has been a lot of our expense as well. We have 10 mouths to feed, and only a small microwave and refrigerator in our room. Their have been many challenges in my life , although this is most definitely at the top of my list. Our fear & worry about our current situation has taken an unbelievable toll on us emotionally , and we are just trying to literally survive. Life should NOT be this hard. Anything helps , and if your unable to donate …. PLEASE JUST SHARE.
