emergency medical cost for my father
Hi everyone,
For those of you who may not know me my name is Sandy Zehnder, a 49 year old substitute teacher who has been unemployed since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Ever since my mother died of cancer in 2015 I have been the primary care provider for my special needs brother and for my father who is a Vietnam combat veteran classified as disabled by Veteran Affairs.
My father was hospitalized a month ago with a variety of medical issues, and recently it was determined that he has Vascular Dementia and was sent to a hospital rehab facility for therapy. They determined on Friday 12-4-2020 that they couldn't assist him further and are releasing him the week of 12-7-2020. His assessment indicated that he requires full-time memory care as his needs are beyond what I am able to provide for him at home. I am trying to arrange for this to be completed next week.
Unfortunately, my family does not have sufficient medical coverage nor financial resources necessary to support this effort, and I am asking for any donation possible to help me get him settled into his new health care home. I then can focus on getting a new job to facilitate meeting his long-term needs. I know it's a lot to ask during a year that has devastated so many, but any amount would help and go a long way. Your support is greatly appreciated.
