Emergency Medical Assistance for Ayipo Marvin ...
Donation protected
Hello ... My name is Chris Cappannelli; I am requesting donations for emergency medical assistance for Ayipo Mines Marvin.
Ayipo and I have known each other for many years; he is a fellow Christian residing in the Mpigi district of Uganda; his life's work has consisted of caring for the orphans of disease, war, and simple abandonment by parents who can't afford to rear them. I have vetted Ayipo personally, and I have verified his bona fides; my sister, Elvira, along with I, have provided very generous assistance over the last 4 to 5 years to help with food, clothing, medical, and staff expenses. To assist with education, we were able to provide sufficient funds to build a single-classroom structure to instruct children of all ages.
In addition, we also provided funding for Ayipo and trusted individuals in his circle to rent and clear land to plant viable and profitable crops; they are fully equipped with irrigation tools, fertilizers, and pesticides to grow and protect the crop. So far, after a hiccup last year, they have made real progress in the hope of a bountiful harvest this year.
Then, tragedy struck - a few weeks ago, Ayipo was mugged and violently beaten by thugs who wanted his cell phone, his only communications lifeline to my sister and me. Although he survived the initial attack (suffering broken teeth requiring surgery), he complained in the days after of headaches and nausea. This past week, he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital; tests revealed he is suffering from a blood clot on his brain, which is threatening to render him with permanent neurological damage or death.
The cost of the treatment is something beyond what my sister and I can readily afford, given all the past assistance we have provided; even the most conservative course of treatment will cost $5,500 (U.S.) for blood thinners, scans, and follow-up care over the next 3 to 4 months. The funds received will be used to pay the hospital and doctors entrusted with Ayipo's care.
We are grateful for your assistance, and will add more pictures and updates over the next day or so.
