Hello everyone. This sweet family is in need of our help! After serving 9 years, and 2 combat tours in Afghanistan with the United states Marine corps Jared and his wife Lauren made the decision to leave the military life and return to Texas with their three boys (ages 1, 4, &6) The family found a home on Lake Granbury. The home was fully remodeled on the inside. The exterior lacked charm but they figured they could fix that with time. Lauren and Jared leased their home 10 days prior to closing. During this time they recieved heavy rain. The home flooded. The realtors were contacted and the sellers agreed to make the "necessary" repairs prior to closing. On good faith that the correct repairs had been made the family went to closing on 6/30/17. Two weeks after closing they once again received heavy rain. The home flooded once again. This time the seller refused to make any repair. It now has been 8 months of off and on flooding in their home. The mold has returned and the home smells of mildew. To top everything off they had a complete septic system failure. Leaving them unable to flush toilets, shower, wash dishes, or do laundry. When the man came out to replace their septic system he was appalled at what he found and would not install the new system. He told them it would be a waste of their money as he suspected that they had a much bigger issue on their hands. They were then given a phone number to a contractor. The contractor then came out took a look at the home, and discovered that a structural beam in their closet had completely rotted through causing the staircase to sag. He also discovered that rain had been washing under the upper slab into the wall of their master bedroom, and also washing out where the upper slab and lower slab meet. The home has major structural damage. With repairs in the range of 65k-75k. Due to the lack of a working septic, flooding mold, and raw sewage running in with the rain water, the family was advised to vacate due to uninhabitable conditions. They are now staying with members of their church and need help! This situation has maxed out their credit cards, and sapped them of savings funds. It is extremely important they get into a rental property asap. Please consider helping this family put a roof over their heads so they can start to get their lives back together.
