EMERGENCY! HELP US INSPIRE NEW TRENDS IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!

Hello everyone! We are I.N.T. Robotics, a community team based at the NYC FIRST STEM Center in Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island.

WE NEED YOUR HELP GETTING US TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! WE HAVE JUST FOUND OUT TODAY THAT WE WERE OFFERED A SPOT TO ATTEND WORLDS IN HOUSTON, TEXAS!

As a rookie community team, most of our coaches and mentors are college students who have paid out of pocket for materials and expenses. Additionally, our students come from low-income backgrounds and also have financial struggles. Thus, we cannot come up with most of the funding we need ourselves.

We are a rookie all-star FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) team, meaning this is our 1st year competing, providing a chance for students across NYC to compete in a collaborative, teamwork environment while learning the core values of gracious professionalism, fun, inclusion, discovery, innovation, and impact. We aim to spread STEAM across NYC and enhance students' skills with proper training, safety, mindset, and creativity.

This year, as a rookie team, we have won the Rookie All-Star Award at the Hudson Valley Regional and the Imagery Award at the NYC Regional. We ranked 5th out of 51 teams in the NYC regional! We had one of the best autonomous routines in the city and consistent robot performance.

So far, we have successfully recruited over 30 students from various high schools across NYC ranging from the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan. Some students had the opportunity to do another program within FIRST called FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) but wanted to advance their scope by challenging their skills, which consisted of mechanical, CNC machining, electrical, programming, branding, and outreach. This year, students will build around 125 lb robot to compete in the World Championships in Houston, Texas. This year's game is surrounded around bringing the arts into the STEM industry with music — Crescendo. Our goal is to provide our students with the resources and a fair shot at competing so that they can compete in WORLDS!

We are reaching out to the community to help us move forward with our goal of Inspiring New Trends (I.N.T.) in STEAM fields and to provide students with a secure future in the industry, starting with the lifelong skills FRC teaches them. We need help covering food, transportation, and other activities for students to engage in WORLD CHAMPS!

Our team mission statement is as follows: I.N.T. Robotics was founded by a group of mentors and FIRST alums from different schools and backgrounds who are passionate about spreading opportunities to students across NYC to explore the limitless possibilities of STEAM. We strive to break common stereotypes in the industry while encouraging students to take on STEAM careers and have new traits, from confidence to resilience to problem-solving. We plan on using our community FRC team to prepare students to tackle more significant STEAM events and foster versatile intellect in finding solutions on an engineering scale. As we Inspire New Trends (I.N.T.) by creating experiences in STEAM for the next generation of youths to explore, expand, & embrace, we also empower students to become leaders, creators, and change-makers in their communities. Join us as we build a community that promotes innovation, fosters creativity, and transforms lives through the exciting world of robotics. We start this new journey as a united and diverse front in STEAM.
