I DIDN'T EXPECT TO HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN...
Today I found out that I cannot get the ACA insurance that I have had since 2014 for calendar year 2017.
I lost my church jobs in the Diocese of Pittsburgh in August of 2016 because the parishes in which I was working were closed. That leaves me with only my way-part-time job as Instructor of Music at Butler County Community College, Butler PA. It seems that there is a minimum amount an individual needs to make to qualify for ACA insurance, and I make $4,000 less than that amount.
My application was rejected, and I was automatically sent to the State of PA to see if they will put me in the Medicade or Medicare program. That will take at least a month, which means there is no likelihood of getting this coverage before Januar 1, 2017. At that point, I will have no health care coverage.
In order to be covered for a month of insurance AND to pay for my meds for that same month, I will need to have $1,200 by December 31.
