<div>In the face of the <strong>devastating wildfires</strong> that swept through our community in Southwest Portugal, We are launching this <strong>emergency</strong> community fundraising campaign.

<div><em>Diante dos incêndios devastadores que varreram a nossa comunidade no Sudoeste de Portugal, estamos lançando esta campanha de arrecadação de fundos de emergência comunitária.</em>

<div><strong>What Happened?</strong>
</div>
<div>Between August 5th - August 8th, 2023, wildfires ripped through rural communities based around Odeceixe and Sao Teotonio, causing massive damage to homes, rural tourism projects and farms. Over 1400 people were evacuated from their homes. The National Civil Protection Service said about 1,000 firefighters, 320 vehicles and nine aircraft were deployed. Approximately 10,000 hectares (25,000 acres) were scorched.

<div><em>Entre os dias 5 e 8 de agosto de 2023, incêndios florestais varreram comunidades rurais nas regiões de Odeceixe e São Teotónio, causando danos massivos a residências, projetos de turismo rural e fazendas. Mais de 1400 pessoas foram evacuadas de suas casas. O Serviço Nacional de Proteção Civil informou que cerca de 1000 bombeiros, 320 veículos e nove aeronaves foram mobilizados. Aproximadamente 10.000 hectares (25.000 acres) foram consumidos pelas chamas.</em>

<div>This Relief Fund will help those who have been directly impacted by the wildfires. Our primary focus is to assist those who have lost the most, and have the least.

<div>Direct Aid for Uninsured Fire Victims: Your contribution will directly provide shelter, food, clothing, and essential supplies for those who have lost everything.

<div>Restoring Vital Infrastructure: Many members of our community have lost crucial infrastructure like solar and water systems, machinery, and equipment. Your donation will help them regain their self-sufficiency and rebuild.

<div><strong>How will the Funds be administered?</strong>

<div>We are an action committee of local residents not directly impacted by the fires.
</div>
<div>We have created an online funding application form (link below) so anyone affected by the fire can receive financial assistance according their means and needs.
</div>
<div>We will do our very best to maintain full transparency and ensure funds are distributed where they are needed the most.
</div>
