<div>The Los Angeles Tenants Union (LATU) is raising emergency funds in response to a dangerous and escalating situation: a massive invasion of LAPD, DHS, and ICE across the city. Working-class tenants—especially undocumented Angelenos—are being targeted. People are being kidnapped from their workplaces. The goal is to destabilize, disappear, and displace entire communities.

<div>This is happening on top of the overlapping crises tenants already face: housing precarity, criminalization, rent burden, wage theft, harassment, and systemic abandonment. The threat of ICE raids adds a brutal new layer of violence to daily life—and tenants are being forced to choose between income and survival.

<div>LATU is a volunteer-run, tenant-led organization building power across Los Angeles to fight for housing as a human right and to protect our communities from all forms of displacement. These funds will allow us to scale up our organizing in response to this moment: expanding rapid-response capacity, supporting local chapters, producing legal and political education materials, strengthening community defense, and adapting to new and emerging threats.

<div>El Sindicato de Inquilinos de Los Ángeles (LATU) está recaudando fondos de emergencia en respuesta a una situación cada vez más peligrosa: una invasión masiva del Departamento de Policía de Los Ángeles (LAPD), el Departamento de Seguridad Nacional (DHS) y el Servicio de Inmigración y Control de Aduanas (ICE) en toda la ciudad. Los inquilinos de clase trabajadora, especialmente los angelinos indocumentados, están siendo atacados. Secuestran a personas de sus lugares de trabajo. El objetivo es desestabilizar, desaparecer y desplazar a comunidades enteras.

La amenaza de redadas del ICE añade una capa nueva y brutal de violencia a la vida cotidiana, y los inquilinos se ven obligados a elegir entre ingresos y seguridad.
