Emergency Fund for MASWC COVID19

Muslim American Society of White Center is a community based organization. Serving the low income community, people of color who identify as a Muslim, immigrant, refugee, youth, senior, children, and young adults.
Since 2017 we helped tackle disparities within our community such as underprivileged youth, prevent displacement for those who are facing homelessness. After school programs for children, and weekly Islamic Classes for adults. Moreover, we serve up to 500-600 people weekly who benefit from our community organization who live in the west seattle, white center, and burien area.
Since this COVID19 crisis we lost our ability to recieve donations from members of our community on a weekly basis which we heavily relied on. Our Mosque primarily relies on donations from prayer services, especially Jummah (Friday Sermon).
However, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the suspension of many prayer services and has closed the doors of our beloved sacred spaces, thus cutting off all revenue for many houses of worship. As a result, many mosques are currently grappling between keeping their doors open to maintain financial security and suspending services to protect the community from spreading Coronavirus.
All advisories from public officials, doctors, and Islamic scholars are warning mosques to shut down until this pandemic passes. The Muslim community remains at high-risk of contracting COVID-19 in mosques due to the nature of close contact, shared prayer rugs, and high transmittable rates of infection at wudu stations. Please donate generously to our Emergency Fund for MASWC so that our beloved sacred space can get through this period of difficulty with ease.
