Emergency Feasibility Study

Typhoid and Cholera outbreaks in Harare, Zimbabwe are directly attributable to the poor state of the Sewage and Drinking Water Infrastructure.

We have already contacted the UK FCO [Foreign and Commonwealth Office] and they have introduced us to DFID  [Department For International Development] in Harare, Zimbabwe about the need for this project and they are currently considering our 'Scope Document'.

However there are immediate needs for full scale feasibility Studies as the current infrastructure is both old and has not been maintained - so the best course of action may be the complete replacement on a city wide scale. This can be funded elsewhere, but subject to the study outlined.

Furthermore the Study would have to address the complex political environment - suffering from institutionalised corruption any such project needs to be project managed and funded outside of Zimbabwe - thus needing to use Global Class International Civil Engineering Corporations.

So a technical and economic viability studies are needed.

The funds raised will be used to apply for additional humanitarian funding agencies of up to $4m to carry out these studies. So we would be leveraging the seed investment.

This money is needed urgently as Cholera and Typhoid in Harare Zimbabwe has regularly surfaced see World Health Organisation Updates  and whilst a vaccination programme may help symptoms - the root causation is sewage/water as evidenced in the 25 year Study in Nigeria (link here)
