Eye Surgery for LoriAnn Robinson

LoriAnn Robinson is a friend  to many of us.  She has served on many boards, rodeo committees and is dire need of our help. She is requiring major surgery on her eyes. She is unable to see to drive among other things.  Due to her business and consulting being on hold because of Covid, she is in need of financial assistance so that she can provide for herself. 

The surgery she is requiring is Vitrectomy. This is a surgical procedure undertaken by a specialist where the vitreous humor gel that fills the eye cavity is removed to provide better access to the retina. This allows for repairs, including removal of scar tissue, laser repair or detachment treatment of the macular. Both eyes need this procedure.

How did this happen?

Two specialists have come to the conclusion it may have been from Late Stage Lyme Disease. (one of the many side effects) The treatment which removed the bacterial issue was successful last March but left the eyes damaged. 

Six months of injections at almost 2k each (5 in each eye plus tests) have taken a huge financial toll.

The estimated cost is 7200.00 per eye. The insurance has covered a small amount in the beginning. She is still looking for other organizations to assist.
