<div>For anyone who might occasionally see my post online, this urgent need is directly tied to a brutal and surreal series of events a few years ago that resulted in me becoming chronically suicidal, losing my job, and eventually losing my life savings.

<div>If I've ever shown up to an event with a couple cases of beer, or tools, or delivered you covid quarantine food, helped you move, subbed in for your sports team, took badass photos of you or your friends for free, etc… now would be a life changing/saving moment to get to return the favour.

<div>It’s a David vs Goliath legal situation where a petty narcissist of a multi-millionaire business owner is suing an ex-employee (me!) for $500,000 in order to prevent having to pay out severance, unpaid wages, etc.

<div>Back in 2021, I was fired in such a heinous and harmful fashion that I ended up becoming chronically suicidal. A friend helped raise money to help me navigate that situation and get a lawyer to sue for my unpaid wages, severance, etc. In response to looking to get those unpaid wages, the company in question retaliated with a half-a-million-dollar lawsuit against me. While their counterclaim is toothless, it costs a boatload of money to go through the legal process to prove it.

<div>From the company’s perspective, if their counterclaim can drag on forever and bankrupt me, they’ll avoid having to pay out a cent of what they legally owe—because I’ll be unable to get to the point of having a judge throw out their predatory counterclaim.

<div>And now, time is running out to take the next steps to move forward in defending myself from this ridiculous and vindictive legal situation.

<div>For five years, I have had to put every single dollar of income into paying lawyers to navigate this situation. Rent and bills have had to come out of life savings, and then a personal line of credit when the life savings ran out.

<div>I’ve mostly stopped doing the things I love because I haven't been able to afford them for a while. I used to play hockey 5-6 times a week. It’s now, maybe once every other week.

<div>I used to be able to support my theatre, comedy, and improv pals by attending shows. Brutally, for years now I haven't been able to attend anything unless someone else has generously bought me a ticket.

<div>Why is this so URGENT?

<div>I have been trying to write this appeal to friends and family and acquaintances for well over a month. It’s just so fucking heartbreaking to have to admit to myself and to others how bad things really are. I have absolutely cried myself sick a couple times writing this.

<div>So as a result, I have fully panic attacked myself into a corner where I am on the precipice of everything completely falling apart.
