Donation protected
Before we go into the story, I want to thank you all for taking the time to read and considering helping this amazing Fort St. John couple and their new beautiful baby girl. Before making this, I had asked permission as I know the pride is very high in this family. I am extremely close with this family & when I recently went thought a life changing accident they were there for me in every way possible. Never have I had the blessing of knowing such amazing true hearted people. It breaks my heart that I can't help them through this more, so here we are asking anyone and everyone please help this Fort St. John family see their girl to good health and back home! Thank you so much in advance.
Autumn, Dakota & Teslyn we love you guys so much, keep those heads up and shoulders back!
Love, the West family <3

On October 31st 2018 autumn was called into the drs office to go over her ultrasound what was supposed to be a gender reveal had turned into every mothers worst fear at said time she was told there was a possibility that Teslyn had a mass in her chest cavity. From there on out they were referred to Vancouver womens hospital where extensive testing was done every 4 weeks autumn and dakota would travel to Vancouver for testing, ultrasounds, stress test and so on. It was discovered that Teslyn had what was called congential diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) and would need emergency surgery once born.

Unsure and afraid of the outcome and odds as mortality rate is high is some cases. Teslyn was able to stay in til full term. Fast forward Feb 6 2019 autumn and dakota were told they would have to live in Vancouver until Teslyn was born and for many months after due to risks of having a cdh baby and could experience many health issues. Fast forward some more March 14 autumn was induced as they wanted Teslyn out as soon as possible as shes now full term. 2 days of inducing drs had to assist autumn with deliver due to Teslyns heart rate dropping. Teslyn was now stuck in the canal and was to far down to do a csection without successfully hurting her. Teslyn was born March 16,2019 @6:52pm weighing 7lbs 3 oz measuring 20.9cms. Autumn was able to hold her for 30 seconds before being taking and put in an incubator and having respirations done for her. Teslyn heart rate had almost come to a complete stop and was very blue. The NICU team worked gracefully on her and got her breathing again. They transported her by foot down to NICU breathing for her until they could get the machines hooked up on her. Autumn and dakota stayed in the birthing room while autumn and dakotas mothers went with Teslyn to NICU where they would wait for her to be assessed. Teslyn is a very strong beautiful baby girl and has fought the medical team and equipment to try and do her own thing. Monday March 18th drs felt Teslyn was accelerating nicely so instead of fighting against her they decided to run with her and give her the surgery she needed. Teslyns surgery was to take 4 hrs and to our surprise was completed in 2hrs. Teslyn was and is still accelerating in her recovery. Teslyn has had the best surgical team a parent could ever want for their child in need. Teslyns surgeon is rated top 4 in the world dealing with CDH children. Teslyn could be there for a 1,2,3 months or upto a year at this point it is unknown as she needs to be able to eat and have full bodily functions on her own before they will even Introduce breast milk to her. Having our children go through is hard on all of us. Now the time has come back to us and the ball is in our courts. Usually we all are the ones to help other in their need of time and now it's our turn. We've had to swallow our pride and do what's needed for our kids. I always tell my kids we as moms may not always do what's right but we do what's right for that moment. With that being said any one who knows us knows we dont ask for help and I think it's time to let our kids get the help they deserve and be here stress free for their daughter in need. Dakota was not able to work due to the many drs appointments in Vancouver and autumn had to go on mat leave early which she still has yet to come in. At this point both families have exhausted most of their funds without going completely in debt. As hard as this is for both families I'm asking if anyone can help donate to these kids so they dont have to stress about financial hardships of staying away from home With all the money that is raised and if it's not needed the kids wanted to donate it to either Ronald McDonald place or to the NICU in Teslyns name. At this point any amount will help them to lessen the burden of financial hard ship for themselves and members of the family to come be with them. Thank you in advance from the Mearow,McConnell,Mercer,Nicoll family
