Junos’ surgery

Donation protected

We recently went to our local animal shelter and rescued our cute puppy, Juno. During our shelter visit, we learned that she was found wandering the streets by herself.  When we brought her home, it was as if she had been living with us all her life. She was so happy and comfortable. After living with her for a few days,  we noticed that she was always dripping urine. At first, we thought she was just having potty training issues but soon realized the problem was much more serious. We noticed that she constantly was dripping urine which caused her tail to be constantly wet. We took her to our veterinarian who diagnosed her with an ectopic ureter. This means that either one or both of her ureters (the tubes that connect the kidneys to the bladder) are not in the correct spot. This means that the urine she makes bypasses the bladder altogether. This is what is causing her to be constantly dripping urine. This has caused many issues from always having to clean up behind her, to having her wear diapers, and worst of all she is always being exposed to urine around her backside, legs, and tail. This is very uncomfortable for her and she has developed rashes and skin breakdown.

Ultimately, this means Juno will have a very poor quality of life if we do not fix this issue. The procedure she needs to have done is quite expensive with the quote we received from our veterinarian averages $3200.00. We know these are tough times financially for a lot of people, but any little bit will help in getting Juno the care she needs.
