Elysse's Tuition for Howard

In May I found out that I was one of the scholarship recipients for the McDonald's Academic Excellence Scholarship. Last week I found out I will not be receiving this scholarship because my EFC is not 0. This is devastating news and has put me in a difficult financial situation. I worked hard for this scholarship, and attended all the events including the Cedric the Entertainer Gala that fundraises for students for UNCF. Despite my academic standings, my extra-curricular, and the conference I Co-founded I will not be receiving any funds, and UNCF will continue to profit off of my face and my achievements I had in my high school career. Howard is everything I've ever wanted. Everyday I am submerged in Black culture and striving for black excellence from black excellence. I have learned more about myself and my potential not only as a student but a young black woman.
