Elyse Rainbolt Artist and Designer

Donation protected

Elyse Rainbolt is an Artist and Designer specializing in hand painted garments with an avant-garde twist. She was born in Ashland, Oregon, and spent much of her youth in Southern Illinois where she became interested in 1960's Rock Culture and Fashion History which has become a fountain of inspiration for her commissions of prints, murals, textiles & other designs.

At 19, Elyse moved to San Diego and spent 7 years there where she studied music, art and fashion in the cultural hub of Southern California. Seeking inspiration from new surroundings, Elyse relocated to Denver, Colorado in 2010. There, she began a 6 year apprenticeship under an eighth generation Hungarian Master Furrier, tailoring patterns and familiarizing herself with the world of fur garments.

Elyse was featured during Colorado Fashion Week in 2011 and curated the art exhibition Music.Art.Fashion.Coffee at Studio 12 Gallery in 2012. In 2013, she hosted XIV New Year’s party at her then community space, The Coast, where 360 people were in attendance. In 2014, Elyse spent her time modeling for Colorado Artists, making mix tapes, DJ'ing events, styling music videos and exhibiting her art in galleries. In 2015, she made custom garments for National Bands, began designing for a boutique in Japan (a partnership she continues to this day), and manufactured custom leather & shearling upholsteries for Colorado Businesses.

In 2016, Elyse won Denver Westword's Whiteout Fashion Design Contest and showcased seven looks during Artopia, and returned the following year to feature seven new designs on the runway. 2017 was filled with Pop-Up Shops, custom clothing work for three additional boutiques in Japan, as well as designing for National and International Musicians.

In 2018, Elyse was flown to Japan to paint a mural where she currently has designs for sale in Fukuoka, at Tigre Brocante. Also in 2018 she painted and filled the windows of Buffalo Exchange Colorado with her own designs & garments for Pride Month.

She is looking forward to exhibiting her latest work in mural form at Midnight Rambler Boutique in Denver, Colorado and at Vinyl Junkies Record Store in San Diego, California later this year. Elyse is concurrently working on garments for some of her favorite musicians and is so excited to share her passion for her 1960’s inspired designs.

Elyse is consistently asked where people can buy her artful work. In addition to frequent and enthusiastic commentary on her various Instagram postings, she receives multiple inquiries for custom orders ranging from murals, illustrations, posters, album art, tattoo designs, leggings, shirts, stickers & jackets on a regular basis.

Funds raised will provide Elyse with the means to fulfill these orders and a solid foundation on which to grow her business.

Elyse will create a website where she can showcase her various expressions, thus generating an online presence from which viewers may obtain a true window into her world. She will have an inventory of at least 16 items that are ready to purchase online, and continuously adding painted tapestries, leggings & other one of a kind goods as she dexterously creates them from the funded materials. Through her website, Elyse intends to generate a passive and active income, and from the profits, reinvest in her endeavors and her livelihood.

The funds are needed by September 30 to meet a launch date set between November 15 and December 6, 2018. Elyse will be hosting a Launch Party and Pop-Up Shop for her retail items in a fun environment with a great soundtrack at a to be determined location in Denver. Her website will also be fully available to the public at this time.

Meeting this goal would be the cornerstone on which Elyse will thrive and prosper. To be supported by her friends, family and community would demonstrate that her work is valued, desired and worth sharing with a wider audience. It would enable her to be a self employed Artist and Designer who makes a living doing what she loves all the while filling the custom orders she has received.

Elyse is eternally grateful for the support, encouragement, sharing & funding of her plans & aspirations. She feels unbounded joy and passion when working with her hands and Elyse is using this opportunity to manage what she does with her time, talents and productions.

Elyse is giving back to her communities by volunteering with various Art Nonprofits in California and Colorado, by donating her time consulting up and coming Artists & Designers with her insights and know how of her industries and by continuing to support small businesses as well as  the music, art & fashion scene.
