On Friday, September 18 Elyse was driving to work when she started feeling like something was wrong. It came on quickly, described as feeling like her head was on fire. She barely made it into the parking lot before getting sick as she tried to exit her vehicle and collapsed. Thankfully, she was able to ask Siri to call for help from her manager and close friend, Alex.

Alex called 911 and reported all of her symptoms. Paramedics arrived shortly after and determined she needed to go to the emergency room. Upon arriving at the hospital, the doctors were alarmed-this was clearly more serious than anticipated. Physicians quickly ordered a CT and found the problem.

Elyse has a colloid cyst on her brain which caused a blockage of cerebrospinal fluid. The possible shifting of the cyst is what caused the “episode” to occur. She will have to have the cyst removed within the next six weeks; there is no alternative.

As a hard working mother, this situation  was not something Elyse was expecting to deal with. Through these trying times, Elyse will need a lot of support and help, so any contribution will be very much appreciated.
