This is Elvis the hardest working 1.5 year old you will ever meet! Elvis is my boss’s puppy and has been in training to become a search and rescue dog for the CARRE (Crawford Area Search and Rescue) since he was adopted and you can bet with the size of that nose that his training is going great! In addition to his search and rescue training he comes into our counseling office every day and gives emotional support to the kiddo's, adults and even staff in the office with his loving heart and giant kisses.
Elvis wasn't feeling good so went to the doctor, after multiple consults and having to travel out of state for the proper diagnosis it was discovered that Elvis has a congenital shunt in his liver which will require a custom-built stent in order for his liver to function and process out the toxins have been damaging his poor body.
His folks got the estimate for diagnosis, stent, first surgery and possible second surgery and it’s going to be up to 25 THOUSAND DOLLARS! Now we are a resourceful bunch so we got to work on trying to raise funds immediately! Elvis has been painting pictures to help his parents out with the cost of surgery; he really is the bestest boy! I've been taking them to conventions and we've managed to raise almost $300.00 thanks to generous folks like you.
Yep, our little Elvis is a professional artist now :)
Unfortunately his blood work is showing the surgery must happen and happen soon. He's scheduled for his surgery on December 4th 2024 and his first surgery is going to cost $10,000.00. We are asking for any help that you can give; his parents are putting themselves into enormous debt to save his life. Elvis has the biggest heart and he is a hard worker. He has so much more work to do; a lifetime of and search and rescue and supporting folks in the counseling office. Please help Elvis continue to help others by donating today, every bit helps! To show our appreciation everyone who donates (and includes their email address) will get an email with a digital copy of one of Elvis's paintings that you may download and print out on your own computer. Please allow up to 2 weeks for the email as Elvis is working daily to create more art.
A special note from Elvis’s folks:
Elvis was adopted due to the realization that there was a dire need for high quality search and rescue dogs in the area. This came to be after a special needs young lady was reported missing from our area. Through exhaustive search efforts over countless days and weeks, She was never located. Search dogs were brought in from other states (traveling about 4 hours each way every time they came) and they came out multiple times to no avail. Sadly, had these dogs been available sooner, there might have been a different outcome to this sad story.
Many people sacrificed many hours of time and income searching for her. Seeing a huge need for a search and rescue team in our area need a dedicated group of people devoted many additional hours in creating the search and rescue group “CARRE”, (Crawford Area Rescue & Recovery Efforts) and Elvis’s job is to support this group and help in finding people who are lost and missing.
Due to his medical condition, his training has currently been reduced and with treatment he will be able to be an important part of the CARRE’s team. His diagnosis and treatment is located out of state and we are not asking for any help with travel, food or lodging ONLY help defraying the cost of his surgery.
Please donate today to help Elvis continue his important work!
