Elvira's vet bill

Taken too soon.
Elvira was the sweetest, gentlest English Shepherd you would meet. Often mistaken for a Border Collie because of her black and white coat, she never held a grudge. She loved every person and animal she met, except for chipmunks she liked to hunt. She had many BFF dog friends and she happily chose my dogs to also be her BFF's.
An early morning rush to the ER turned into nightmarish days for Ellie's mom Laurie. Everything that could be done was done from emergency surgery to rid her of the pyometra that was infecting her uterus only to find there was much worse complications. Ellie wasn't supposed to survive surgery but she did.
A heroic dog was brought in to give her his blood for a transfusion that would hopefully save her live. She was doing so well overnight and even ate some peanut butter, drank some water and pranced outside for an evening walk.
The next morning things started to turn for the worst. The sepsis secondary to the pyometra took her body. She was hypocoagulating which most likely threw a blood clot to her lungs. She could not fight anymore.
Ellie is gone but the veterinary bills are still left.
Laurie is the most generous person I know who makes time for anyone in need. Although her resources are extremely limited, she would give her last dime to anyone in need.
Any help is most appreciated and will forever be grateful
