Elva Still Needs Your Help.

As all of you know, Elva was run over by a car last June 7, 2017. The driver was uninsured and the car was not registered. The driver ended up in jail. We had to close the initial campaign down at that time for legal reasons.
Both of Elva's ankles wer broken and her right leg was punctured. This is Elva's leg today. It was infected for over three weeks while she was in the skilled nursing facility. The doctor was supposed to give her skin graft but decided not to go with it even after Elva told them to do it.
I'm Elva's good friend and once employer. You all know her from the restaurant here in San Francisco. She was my bookkeeper for about five years. As you can see, this doesn't look very good, and Elva is in extreme pain. She cannot walk for long distances and she cannot drive her car. She has called her doctors numerous times for some kind of relief, but doesn't get satisfactory responses. They often ignore her calls.
She received her net settlement from the insurance companies, but it was a meager pittance after paying off the skilled nursing facilities (she was in two of them) as well as the hospital. This amount only covers about three months of her living expenses and these three months are almost up.
She has been denied disability THREE times. Her doctors have submitted the paperwork but the doctors at the disability office have denied it each time, even without seeing her. She has contacted a disability lawyer who has taken her case, but it will take 16 months for her case to go to trial. In the meantime, she cannot work because she cannot walk nor drive a car. I don't want to see Elva out in the street. She is living a nightmare that no one should be living.
Sixteen months is a little less than one and a half years. Without work, Elva could lose her residence and her home. She has rent to pay, bills to pay, and food to shop for and to keep her alive. She has no job at this time, and is unable to walk and drive due to her bad leg. Her expenses are around $1300 a month which includes rent, car payment, phone bill, utilites, insurance, and food. All funds are being sent to her Wells Fargo account.
Please find it in your hearts to donate to her cause so that she can stay secure under a roof and with food on her table. Without your help, she will end up in the streets waiting for her case to go to trial.
