We are a student group from Ellsworth High School (in Ellsworth, WI) raising funds to help aid Ukrainians as they face the fallout from the Russian invasion.
This project is important to us. We have witnessed several people in our community with deep, personal connections to the situation, including one of our exchange students, who has been here while his country has been in turmoil. We want to support him and others in our school community, including special ed teacher Melinda Casper, whose stepmother fled from her city outside of Kyiv to Poland.
To show support and send assistance to those in need, we will host a fundraising dinner highlighting traditional Ukrainian foods (including Chicken Kyiv) on May 7th, 2022, from 5-8 pm, in the EHS Cafeteria. The meal will be open to the public and cost $10. Proceeds raised will be split between two international groups, the Red Cross and World Central Kitchen (#ChefsForUkraine). These groups help provide medical care to those injured and deliver hot meals to refugees and those in war-torn regions.
Tickets for the meal can be purchased in the Ellsworth High School office or from one of the students organizing the event. If you cannot attend the fundraiser or would like to make an additional support donation, please do so here. We are very grateful for your help!
